The 28 II can be used to measure DC/AC voltage from 0.1mV up to 1000V, DC/AC current from 0.1μA to 19A, resistance from 0.1Ω to 50MΩ, conductance up to 60nS, diode testing to 2.0V, duty cycle from 0% to 99.9^, capacitance from 10nF to 9999μF, frequency from 0.5Hz to 199.99kHz and temperature from -200 up to 1090°C.
As this multimeter is EX certified and has other certifications, it is designed to prevent ignition of potentially combustible environments, ensuring there is no risk of explosion while testing. This is essential for those who need to test within these environments as using a common multimeter could cause the atmosphere to ignite.
As well as standard measurements the Fluke 28 II Ex can also be used to calculate MIN, MAX, Average and Peak records in order to record transient and variants automatically. A relative mode is also included which removes the interface test lead resistance can have upon readings.
The meter is also both auto and manual ranging, has backlit keypad buttons for use in poorly lit areas (the screen is also backlit) and has typical battery life that lasts up to 400 hours.
