Test your EV Charge Point and connection cables – LIVE, without opening the box with this new EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) adapter from Metrel.
Simulate a vehicle connected to the station, call for energy, and perform Voltage, Loop, PFC and RCD Tests externally.
The EVSE Adaptor works in conjunction with a standard Multifunction Tester – some Metrel products have dedicated functionality and test routines to compliment the adaptor, however it can be used with any Metrel installation Tester.

This adaptor simulates a vehicle connected to the charge point, with selectable options available for charge output including:
- Disconnected
- Charge Ready
- Charging
- Pilot Error
…for vehicles with cooling/ventilation power requirements and those without.
Therefore all tests (Insulation; Voltage/Frequency; Earth Loop; PFC; RCD) can be performed externally without the need to open the box and access the internal terminals. The EVSE Adaptor also has a BNC connector directly accessing the Control Pilot for analysis of the station signals for different charging states.
Not forgetting, of course, this also enables full testing of the associated connection cabling and plugs/sockets in use, which without energising the charging circuit cannot normally be achieved.
